These terms govern the purchase and use of Bengala licences. Please read them before you buy: by paying, you accept them. Version dated 4 November 2026.
1. Who is selling
Bengala is an app by Manuel Roldán Pérez, whose Spanish tax ID (NIF) and address are given in the legal notice. You can email us at support@bengala.tv.
2. What Bengala is, and what it isn’t
Bengala is a player for TVs: it organises and plays playlists of channels, films and series in M3U or Xtream Codes format, and guides in XMLTV format.
Bengala does not include or sell channels, films, series, playlists or subscriptions of any kind, and has no connection with any provider. You add the playlists yourself, and it is your responsibility to make sure you have the right to use them. We don’t know what your playlists contain: they don’t pass through our servers (see the privacy policy).
3. What you need
- A TV or streaming device with Android TV or Google TV (Android 8.0 or later), or an LG TV with webOS 5 or later.
- An internet connection.
- A playlist from a provider entitled to offer it to you.
Before you buy, you can use the free trial to check that everything works.
4. Free trial
Each device gets a 7-day free trial of the full app, with no card and no account needed. When it ends, the app asks for a licence to carry on. Your playlists, profiles and favourites stay on the device. There is one trial per device, even if you reinstall the app.
5. Licences
A licence lets you use Bengala on a set number of devices at the same time. These are the licences on sale:
- 1 device, annual: renews every year.
- 1 device, one-off payment: you pay once and it does not renew.
- 3 devices, annual: renews every year.
The one-off payment is only available for 1 device. Individual seats cannot be bought and added to a licence: if you need more devices, you buy another licence.
One-off payment means there are no further charges: it includes app updates for as long as Bengala is still being sold, on the device you choose. It is not a promise that the app will exist forever.
A licence is for you and the people you live with. It may not be resold, rented out or shared between people who do not live together.
6. Prices
Current prices are shown on the website and on the payment page before you buy, always including taxes. What you see on the payment page is what you pay.
On Google Play, prices are set by the store in each country’s currency and may not match the website’s prices to the cent.
7. How to buy
- Your device shows a QR code, which you open on your phone.
- You sign in with your email address: we send you a six-digit code, so no password is needed.
- You choose your licence and pay.
- The device that showed the code activates itself.
Payment is processed by Stripe. You can pay by card or with any other method shown on the payment page. We never see or store your card details. You will receive your receipt and invoice by email.
Once the app is sold on Google Play, you will also be able to buy within it through Google Play. In that case, billing, renewals and refunds for that purchase are also governed by Google Play’s terms.
8. Immediate activation and right of withdrawal
The licence is digital content delivered to you straight away: the device is activated as soon as payment is confirmed.
That is why, before you pay, we ask you to agree expressly to the licence being activated immediately, in the knowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal (the ‘cooling-off period’) you would have with other distance purchases, as permitted by Article 103(m) of Spain’s consolidated consumer protection law (texto refundido de la Ley General para la Defensa de los Consumidores y Usuarios). We confirm this in your purchase receipt.
This does not affect your legal guarantee (section 13) or what is set out about refunds (section 14).
9. Annual licence: renewal and cancellation
- The annual licence renews automatically every year using the same payment method, at the price in force at the time.
- Before each renewal, we send you a reminder by email.
- You can cancel whenever you like, without giving a reason, from ‘Invoices and subscription’ on the page the QR code opens, or by emailing us. The licence keeps working until the end of the year you have paid for and does not renew.
- If a renewal payment fails, the licence keeps working for 3 more days while the payment is retried. If it is then paid, the licence starts working again automatically.
- If we change the price of the annual licence, we will let you know before the renewal it affects, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
10. Your account and your devices
- The licence is tied to your account, which is your email address. To use it on another device, sign in on that device with your email address.
- Each activated device takes up one seat on the licence. A seat is freed up from the device itself, in Settings → Account.
- Each seat can move to 2 new devices every 12 months. Going back to a device that already had the licence during those 12 months does not count as a change, and neither does reinstalling the app on the same device.
- In addition, a licence allows no more activations in 30 days than it has seats, plus two.
- If you need an extra change (for example, because your device has broken down or been stolen), email us and we will give you one.
These limits exist so that a licence is not shared across lots of households. They do not affect normal use.
11. Permitted use
You may not:
- resell, rent out or share the licence, or share your account outside your household;
- get around the licence check, or modify the app to do so;
- use Bengala to infringe the rights of others.
If this section is clearly breached, we may suspend or terminate the licence after notifying you and giving you the chance to explain. If we terminate it when you have not breached anything, we will refund you a proportionate share of what you paid.
12. Operation, updates and service
- Bengala works without contacting our servers for about 30 days. What you are watching is never cut off because of a network fault.
- Sync between devices, purchases and activation need our servers. We work to keep them available at all times, but there may be interruptions.
- We release updates to fix bugs and improve the app. Features may change, but we will not take away the essence of what you bought: playing your playlists on your devices.
- Whether a channel or a piece of content works depends on your provider and your connection, not on Bengala.
13. Legal guarantee
As a consumer, you have the legal guarantee of conformity provided by law: if the app does not work as described, you can ask us to fix it and, if we do not do so within a reasonable time, ask for a price reduction or for the contract to be ended with the appropriate refund. For the annual licence, the guarantee covers the whole period you have paid for. For the one-off payment, it covers the two years after purchase.
14. Refunds
In addition to what you are entitled to under the legal guarantee, if something has not gone right, email us and we will look at it case by case.
If you dispute a charge directly with your bank (a chargeback) or receive a full refund, the licence from that purchase ends.
15. Liability
We are liable, in accordance with the law, for any damage we cause by breaching these terms. We are not liable for the content of your playlists, your provider’s services, or faults in your connection or your device. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
16. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will say so on this page with a new date. Changes do not apply to anything you have already paid for. If they affect your annual licence, we will let you know before the next renewal, and you will be able to cancel it.
17. Languages, governing law and complaints
These terms are offered in several languages with the same content. If there is any difference between versions, the interpretation most favourable to you will apply.
They are governed by Spanish law. This does not affect the protection you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live. You can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
If you have a problem, please email us first at support@bengala.tv: we will reply as soon as we can. You can also contact the consumer protection bodies in your country.
